The conference is located next to Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral and a short walk from Liverpool’s main railway station, which provides direct rail links to London and Manchester International Airport. Liverpool is a vibrant city with many cultural, musical and sporting events. It was the European Capital of Culture in 2008 and UNESCO City of Music in 2015.

Travel and accommodation:

Travelling by train

Liverpool is easily accessible by train from all major cities in the UK; there is a direct train from London which takes just over two hours. There is a direct train service between Liverpool Lime Street Station and Manchester Airport. Liverpool South Parkway is three miles from Liverpool John Lennon Airport. Once in Liverpool, the Merseyrail train network has good links to other parts of the city region.

Travelling by plane

Travelling by car

Liverpool city region is well connected to the UK motorway network. From the M6 take the M62, M58 or M56 to reach the city centre.

If you are travelling to the John Lennon Art and Design Building by road and are using satellite navigation equipment you can enter the coordinates 53.404965,-2.970643 or the postcode L3 5RD.

There is no car parking at the John Lennon Art and Design Building and the nearest NCP car park can be found at the bottom of Mount Pleasant (L3 5TB) towards the city centre. This particular car park operates a pay and display system – please note, the Mount Pleasant NCP closes at 8pm so may be unsuitable for evening events.

The conference dinner will take place at 19.00 on Wednesday 15 July at the Bluecoat, a c.15 minute walk or c. 10 minute taxi ride from the John Lennon School of Art and Design Building.
